Have you ever met someone who remembers all the details? You meet them once and when you talk again, they recall things that even you forgot?

That’s Elaine Bercher. She’s also one of those rare people you always make time to talk to just because it’s fun talking with her. And with more than 30 years in construction and real estate administration, she’s the first one you’d want handling administrative details for your design and construction project.

She’s also helped oversee the creation of our exclusive Homeowner Handbook. The handbook highlights stages you can expect during the design and construction process. And it prepares you for the numerous decisions needed and outlines how to take care of your home. Plus, when you’re handed the keys at closing, you can rest assured that all of Elaine’s involvement behind-the-scenes is a main reason the financial details are all taken care of.

“I like to make sure we have everything covered,” she says. “It’s surprising how many clients aren’t aware of lien waivers or might not know about all the decisions they need to make before construction. I’ve tried to simplify the whole process.”

Her main passion outside of work, besides Tom of course, is photography. Whether it’s photographing a tornado in the distance perfectly framed between two pine branches or capturing the sun casting morning rays off a clear-as-glass lake, Elaine loves photography. Luckily, since she doesn’t consider this “work,” she’s been gracious enough to photograph client’s homes.

Elaine’s a dual U.S. and Canadian citizen (yes, both flags fly at their house), an avid golfer, and though she doesn’t look it, a grandma four-times over. She’s also deeply committed to improving the Brainerd Lakes Area community: having served on multiple advisory boards and other organizations such as United Way and the American Cancer Society and as an Ambassador for the Brainerd Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.
